One of the biggest talking points after the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (13-6, 3-3 SBC) went 1-2 in their three game home stand was poor shooting. In the two losses to Georgia Southern and Georgia State, they shot below 45 percent. This was not the case on Saturday night as the Cajuns were able to shoot well above that mark and come away with a 79-73 win over Texas State (10-8, 3-3 SBC).
The Bobcats were able to start out strong and take a five point lead with about 14 minutes left in the first half. It would not last long as Frank Bartley is able to find the bottom of the net from beyond the arc and that would start a 16-6 run over five minutes to get out in front of Texas State.
The momentum would continue to be in favor of the Cajuns as the second half ended as they were able to get up by as much as 14. They would head into the locker room after Texas State scored five points in the last 93 seconds.
The Cajuns was able to start the second half strong with a 10-5 run to get the lead back to double digits with 16:23 left in regulation. Texas State would try to rally back in the final minute of the game, but it was a case of too little too late and the Cajuns were able to get over their two-game skid.
The Ragin Cajuns will head over to Arlington on Monday night when they take on the Mavs of UT Arlington (14-5, 4-2 SBC) with tipoff set for 8 pm.
