Saints Backup QB Chase Daniel Agrees to Deal with Chicago Bears

Posted by clintdomingue on March 15, 2018 in Blogs

The New Orleans Saints may have locked up Drew Brees for the next couple of seasons, but they have lost Chase Daniel to the Chicago Bears on Wednesday, as first reported by the NFL Network.

Good morning, Bears fans.

Some early AM news. QB Chase Daniel expected to agree to terms with Chicago when free agency begins. @gmfb @nflnetwork @NFLonFOX

Daniel has signed a two-year deal with the Bears shortly after they released Mike Glennon. Chicago’s new head coach Matt Nagy was the quarterbacks coach during the three seasons that Daniel was with the team from 2013-15.

It’s clear that he will be the backup to the Bears top draft pick from last year in Mitchell Trubisky and help the young quarterback improve upon his rookie season. Trubisky started in 12 games, threw for 2,193 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
