The New Orleans Saints beefed up its defensive line in Friday’s NFL Draft.
The Saints selected Notre Dame defensive end Isaiah Foskey with the No. 40 overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-5, 264-pound pass rusher is coming off a senior season in which he was selected as 2022 Consensus All-American.
Foskey led the Fighting Irish with 11 sacks for the second-straight season, and recorded 14 tackles for loss. He also led the team with six quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The Saints then picked up a running back in the third round.
Saints selected Texas Christian University running back Kendre Miller with the No. 71 overall pick in the third round.
The 6-foot, 220-pound Miller earned All-Big 12 First Team honors after rushing for a team-best 1,399 yards, scored 17 rushing touchdowns and averaged 6.2 yards per carry.
Miller was also a Doak Walker Award Semifinalist and helped the Horned Frogs to the CFP National Championship Game.
In his three seasons with TCU, Miller rushed for 2,410 yards, scored 26 rushing touchdowns and averaged 6.7 yards per carry. He also caught 29 passes for 229 yards and one receiving touchdown.
The Saints drafted Clemson defensive tackle Bryan Bresee with the No. 29 overall pick in Thursday’s first round of the NFL Draft.

The Saints still have five picks left in this year’s NFL Draft — all on Saturday. New Orleans has the No. 115 pick in Round 4, No. 146 and 165 picks in Round 5, and No. 227 and 257 picks in Round 7.
