The United States will face Europe in the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.

The event begins on Friday, September 26th and runs through Sunday, September 28th. The format is consists of match play point-based matches. 28 total points are up for grabs, meaning a team needs 14.5 points to clinch the Cup. One point is awarded to a match victory while half-points are given for a tied match.

TEAM USA

Captain: Keegan Bradley

Bradley enters this Ryder Cup as the Team USA Captain and the ultimate feel-good story. He was on the bubble to make the last Ryder Cup team, but ultimately Zach Johnson chose to leave him off. The story of Johnson calling Bradley to inform him of the news was well-documented in the “Full Swing” Netflix series, so Bradley’s appointment as captain felt like a full-circle moment to many.

Vice Captains: Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, Gary Woodland

Players: Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Bryson DeChambeau, Harris English, Ben Griffin, Russell Henley, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele, J.J. Spaun, Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Cameron Young

Team USA has a stacked roster led by Scheffler, the World #1. There is a good mix of experience with players like Thomas and Cantlay, along with some fiery up-and-comers like Griffin and Young. The final Captain’s choice seemingly came down to whether or not Bradley would select himself to play as a Player-Captain, but he chose not to, allowing for a player like the former LSU Tiger Burns to grab a spot.

Team Europe

Captain: Luke Donald

Donald comes in as a second-time captain, having led Europe to a victory back in 2023. He was not originally supposed to be the leader of that team, but Henrik Stenson left for LIV Golf and was relieved of his duties. Now Donald has a unique opportunity: he can become the first back-to-back Ryder Cup winning captain since 1987.

Vice Captains: Edoardo Molinari, Thomas Bjorn, Jose Maria Olazabal, Francesco Molinari, Alex Noren

Players: Ludvig Aberg, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrell Hatton, Rasmus Hojgaard, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, Robert MacIntyre, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose, Sepp Straka

Led by McIlroy, this European team has all the fire-power necessary to contend with the Americans even on U.S. soil. Like Team USA, the mixture of experienced players like Rory, Rose, and Rahm are mixed with young talent like Aberg, Hojgaard, and the former McNeese Cowboy MacIntyre. The key to this team could lie in the middle-ground players like Fleetwood, Lowry, and Fitzpatrick.
