The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (1-0) will hit the road for their first away game of the season when they travel to Kennesaw, Georgia to face the Kennesaw State Owls (0-1) on Saturday night inside Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
The game marks the first at home for Kennesaw State as an FBS program. They are beginning to transition from the FCS and are now a part of Conference USA.
Kickoff inside Fifth Third Bank Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m.
THE FIRST MEETING
The Cajuns and Owls have never met on the football field prior to this Saturday. With Kennesaw State transitioning to the FBS, they will be facing plenty of opponents for the first time. These two programs do not have much history across any of the major sports. This game also marks the Cajuns only scheduled trip to the state of Georgia this season, as they do not face Georgia State or Georgia Southern in Sun Belt Conference play.
REGAINING CONFIDENCE
The game against Grambling on Saturday marked the first appearance for Ben Wooldridge since a season-ending injury that he suffered last year. He looked sharp in his return, completing 25 of 33 passes for over 300 yards and three scores. He also connected with a variety of different receivers including Harvey Broussard III, who led the team with 76 receiving yards. He will look to stack good performances on Saturday when the Cajuns travel to Kennesaw State.
DUAL-THREAT OPPONENT
The Louisiana defense will have a difficult task on Saturday as they face the dual-threat abilities of Owls quarterback Davis Bryson. Bryson is a sophomore that is listed at just 5’9 190 lbs. However, he made his mark last week as the signal caller, throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown in the loss to UTSA. While he only ran for 21 yards, that total includes yards lost due to sacks. The Cajuns defense will have to account for the speed and quickness of Bryson on Saturday.
