We are one week closer to getting the playoff started. I know many fantasy footballers are trying to make that late push and here’s some advice that could get you there.
LOVE
Jaylen Waddle – Waddle has played in over 83 percent of the offense’s snaps the last five week and has become more of the primary receiver for the Dolphins. The weekend’s game against the Jets feels great for Waddle with DeVante Parker on IR and Will Fuller may not play this game.
Joe Mixon – Mixon has been ballin’ all season being the ninth best ppr running back. His next matchup is against a Raiders team, who have been getting crushed by opposing backs this season, including Darrel Williams last Sunday night who had his best game of the year so far.
Mac Jones – Jones has started to solidify himself as the rookie of the year as he has led his team to a winning record. His team will be on a short week but has a really favorable matchup as the Falcons have been poor on defense for the last few years ranking nearly last in most defensive categories.
Geoff Swain – Swain has caught a touchdown in two of the last three games and has had an increased role with Julio Jones and Derrick Henry out. The Titans next game is against the division foe Houston Texans. Fortunately, the Texans give up the fifth most fantasy points to tight ends this season.
Brandin Cooks – I feel really good about Cooks reaching pay dirt versus the Titans. He absolutely balled out last year in both games against Tennessee and I expect more of the same this Sunday.
HATE
Diontae Johnson – With Ben Roethlisberger questionable this week because of COVID, Johnson’s fantasy performance doesn’t feel very optimistic either way. The Steelers will go to Los Angeles to play the Chargers, who give up the second fewest amount of fantasy points to wide receivers a game.
Gerald Everett – Russell Wilson didn’t look to hot in Green Bay after returning from his finger injury, but did find Everett quite a bit in that game. Everett though, will have it rough this week as the Cardinals hold tight ends to the least amount of fantasy points per game.
Odell Beckham Jr – Odell’s career with the Rams started off well on the first play from scrimmage last Monday night, catching Matthew Stafford’s pass. Beckham ended the game with only two catches for 18 yards. It takes time for a quarterback and wide receiver to get timing down with one another and I’d hold off on starting OBJ until the playoffs start.
David Montgomery – Montgomery looked rusty after coming off IR in week nine and had his bye week last weekend. His legs should be a little more fresh, but will rely on reaching pay dirt as the Ravens allow so few rushing yards to opponents.
Matt Ryan – Ryan put up one of his worst fantasy outputs last Sunday against the Cowboys. This Thursday’s matchup isn’t any easier as the Falcons will host the New England Patriots, who are tied for fourth in the NFL in takeaways with 17, including 14 being interceptions.
