Most Sunday games for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (42-6, 23-1 Sun Belt) end with a big offensive explosion. This was how the Cajuns finished the regular season on Sunday against UL Monroe (29-25, 11-13 Sun Belt), winning 9-0 in six innings.
Aleah Craighton finally got the Cajuns on the board in the third with a two-run shot to left field. After a bases-loaded walk and Kara Gremillion grounding out, DJ Sanders made it 5-0 with an RBI single.
Craighton found paydirt again with a solo shot to left field to extend their lead even further. Kelli Martinez almost put the game to an end in the fifth with an RBI single but Guarino was tagged out at home to end the inning.
It was Lexie Comeaux who finished the job for the Cajuns with an RBI single to left field.
The Cajuns will now get ready for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Troy, Alabama. Their first game will be on Thursday against a team to be determined with first pitch scheduled for 10 am.
