2016 Standings
That’ right the SEC Baseball Standings are beginning to take shape, and they are starting to fall victim to the similar fate that SEC Football faces every year. The SEC always seems to eat itself alive during conference play, and the baseball teams are doing essentially the same thing. The standings below show exactly what we are talking about, Florida and South Carolina sit on top with a 7-2 record. Vandy, Kentucky, and Miss State are locked up with a 6-3 record; while Alabama sits alone as the only team with a 5-4 record in SEC play. With LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Georgia bringing up the end of teams that are still competing for a conference title.
The Texas A&M Aggies started off the season red hot, but since entering SEC play have ran into a buzz saw of different problems and teams. Florida was having an undefeated season, but the SEC messes that up too. Fans have become quite use to SEC teams knocking each other out during football season; it seems now that those worries will have to transfer into baseball season as well. We shall see how much damage the SEC can do to itself before the postseason comes around.
